SoCal Officials is an independent association that provides umpires to leagues and assigners. Lead by Eric Russell, SoCal Officials currently assigns for leagues and tournaments in the southern California area. We currently accept applications from any person(s) that qualify as an official, regardless of sex, color, creed or national origin. We strive to offer superior training and substantial game experience to provide our officials for tournament and championship play.
SoCal Officials accepts any official regardless of experience. As long as you are willing to learn, there is no experience necessary. We hold several clinics per year, as well as an in-depth mentoring program for new and experienced umpires.
If you are interested in working with us, you should click on the application link above. If you have never umpired before, there will be some costs to purchase all the required gear. There is a registration fee that is paid to the Amateur Softball Association, and is required yearly to be eligible to umpire. You will need to provide proof of registration before we can assign you games.
